    Position Summary

    The Masonry Laborer/Hod Carrier, supports masons by preparing materials, maintaining job site efficiency, and ensuring a steady workflow. This role is critical in assisting with the construction of brick, block, and stone structures by transporting materials, mixing mortar, and keeping work areas organized and safe.

    Key Responsibilities

    Material Handling & Preparation

    * Transport bricks, blocks, stone, and other materials to masons using wheelbarrows, forklifts, or by hand. 
    * Mix mortar, grout, and other materials to proper consistency. 
    * Stock scaffolding and work areas with necessary supplies. 
    

    Site Support

    * Set up and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, and temporary structures. 
    * Maintain clean and organized work areas to ensure safety and efficiency. 
    * Remove debris, excess mortar, and waste materials from job sites. 
    

    Assisting Skilled Masons

    * Provide tools and materials to masons as needed during projects. 
    * Cut materials to size using hand tools or power tools when required. 
    * Hold or position materials during installation. 
    

    Safety & Compliance

    * Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures. 
    * Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. 
    * Report hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents to supervisors promptly. 
    

    Qualifications

    • Previous construction or masonry experience preferred but not required.
    • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
    • Basic knowledge of construction tools and materials is a plus.
    • Strong work ethic and reliability.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (50–100+ lbs regularly).
    • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.
    • Ability to work at heights and on scaffolding.
    • Capable of working in various weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain.

    Work Environment

    • Primarily outdoor construction sites.
    • Exposure to dust, noise, and heavy equipment.
    • Fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience with masonry tools and equipment.
    • Familiarity with mixing ratios for mortar and concrete.
    • Ability to read basic measurements and follow layout instructions.

    Compensation & Schedule

    • Full-time position with potential overtime.
    • Pay based on experience and skill level.
