    About the Position

    The Masonry Superintendent will provide on-site leadership for commercial masonry projects across the Newark region. This individual will oversee daily field operations, manage union crews, coordinate materials and equipment, maintain quality standards, and work closely with project managers to ensure successful project delivery.

    This role is ideal for an experienced masonry professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in leading teams to achieve excellence on complex commercial projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervise day-to-day field activities for commercial masonry projects.
    • Lead union masonry crews and coordinate manpower, equipment, and material needs.
    • Enforce jobsite safety standards and ensure compliance with company and union requirements.
    • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
    • Maintain project schedules and communicate daily with Project Managers.
    • Coordinate with general contractors, owners, inspectors, and subcontractors.
    • Ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications.
    • Identify issues proactively and implement solutions to keep work progressing.
    • Maintain accurate reports including daily logs and field documentation.

    Requirements

    • 5+ years of experience supervising masonry or concrete field operations (Superintendent or Foreman level preferred).
    • Strong knowledge of commercial masonry practices, materials, equipment, and installation methods.
    • Ability to manage union crews or willingness to operate within a union environment.
    • Solid ability to read and interpret blueprints and project documents.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship.

    Preferred:

    • Experience with large-scale commercial masonry projects.
    • Previous union field leadership experience.
