    Job Description

Interested in interning with a new state agency working on health care cost containment?

The HPC's Internship Program is an unpaid opportunity for current students. Interns are expected to work at least 10 hours per week on a discrete project on behalf of one of the HPC’s five departments. In your cover letter, please indicate which department you would like to support.

The Health Policy Commission (HPC) is an independent state agency responsible for implementing key provisions of the Commonwealth’s landmark health care cost containment law, Chapter 224 of the Acts of 2012, “An Act Improving the Quality of Health Care and Reducing Costs through Increased Transparency, Efficiency, and Innovation.” Through the leadership of eleven expert commissioners, and with the support of the HPC’s talented staff, the agency is actively monitoring cost trends and market functions, reforming care delivery systems, investing in community hospitals, and promoting transparency and accountability on behalf of all Massachusetts health care purchasers.

The HPC reserves the right to request a brief (2-3 page) writing sample.
