Massage Therapist Shift Lead
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Create a positive Team environment. The Massage Therapist Shift Lead roles and responsibilities include those of the Therapists:
Directly supervise and be accountable for all aspects of Back End Operations.
Includes ongoing Operations and Management
Address and resolve all customer and team member concerns promptly
Create an environment that is passionate about providing guest service.
Lead by example: achieve personal as well as team goals.
Manages the recruiting, interviewing and hiring of Massage Therapists aligned with the Lead Massage Therapist.
Manage Massage Therapist job postings. Screen, interview and assist with hiring MT’s. Assess the ongoing need for appropriate MT positions required.
Coach Team Members to achieve peak performance.
Support the Lead Massage Therapist with monthly team meetings to review retreat focus, areas of growth. These meetings should be fun and energizing with the outcome to create an energized and engaged team.
Support Massage Therapist onboarding. This includes setting up system access and updates.
Perform training for new employees.
Assess and perform training for all MT’s, including Massage Heights corporate policies and procedures. This effort needs to be performed ongoing where any gaps may exist or to create consistency and sustainability in the retreat.
Train therapists on existing and upcoming Elevations.
Implement creative skill training ideas.
Manage MT schedule. Perform monthly assessment of Massage Therapist availability schedule and share with Retreat and Assistant Directors and Shift Leads.
Confirm that current certificates of registration are properly displayed.
Offer support for Retreat Directors, Assistant Retreat Directors and Lead Massage Therapist as needed.
Schedule therapists.(focus on demand times)
Act as liaison between Therapists and Retreat Directors.
Promote a positive image of Massage Heights to team members and guests.
Participate and promote participation in off-site events.
Track and replenish operational inventory weekly.
Works at least 2 nights per week and Saturday and Sunday shifts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 2 years of management experience
Highly motivated team-player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong leadership and excellent organizational skills
People oriented with strong customer service and public relations skills
Proven track record in achieving sales and service goals
Working knowledge of computers and standard software
Available to work varied hours/weekends, evenings, holidays etc.
Experience in training, coaching, and conflict resolution a plus
Comply with local and state licensing laws and regulations
Carry personal liability insurance
Hold current New Jersey state license to practice massage therapy
Be guest service oriented and able to communicate effectively with guests
Capable of at least deep tissue, Swedish and maternity massage modalities
Be a team player
Believe in regular massage therapy as part of a healthy lifestyle
