Job Description

We are looking for a Fiber Splicer(1099), you are responsible to produce end-to-end fiber optic networks. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.

$2000 SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE

In addition, you will:

· Test and troubleshoot continuity of fiber optic networks

· Operate all testing equipment and be adept at resolution of challenges common to fiber optic networks

· Experience prepping fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, Commscope, Corning etc.

· Utilize fusion splicer, test equipment OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Refelctometer) 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, Power meter

· Fiber engineer knowledge of fiber design, reading documentation, understanding of light levels and dB loss

· Work in outdoor utility construction sites

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. A High School Diploma, or equivalent.

2. 3 years of experience.

3. Knowledge of computers and electronics.

4. Knowledge and practice of safety regulations within OSHA, NESC, and NEC and other construction related guidelines.

5. Ability to read splicing print and apply color code to print reading.

6. Ability to distinguish colors.

7. Ability to use specialty tools.

8. Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships.

9. Precise hand-eye coordination.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. 5 or more years of experience.

2. Ability to clearly communicate instructions to Trainees and others to support training and development.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This job operates in a field environment.

This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting.

Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
