Master Esthetics Instructor Responsibilities
The Master Esthetics Instructor is responsible for delivering advanced esthetics education and supervising practical training for students enrolled in the Master Esthetics program. The instructor must ensure that all training complies with the standards and regulations established by the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) and the Virginia Board for Barbers and Cosmetology.
Must hold an active Master Esthetics Instructor License issued by DPOR in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Maintain the instructor license in good standing and comply with all applicable regulations.
Remain informed of regulatory updates issued by the Virginia Board for Barbers and Cosmetology.
Provide classroom instruction and hands-on training in advanced esthetics procedures.
Teach theoretical and practical components of master esthetics including advanced facial treatments, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, lymphatic drainage, advanced skin analysis, and use of esthetic equipment.
Demonstrate professional techniques and ensure students understand proper procedures and safety protocols.
Utilize lectures, demonstrations, audiovisual materials, and supervised clinical practice to facilitate learning.
Supervise students during practical and clinic activities to ensure proper performance of advanced esthetic procedures.
Ensure that students follow safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
Provide guidance and mentoring to students to help them achieve required competencies.
Teach according to the approved Master Esthetics curriculum and required clock hours established by DPOR.
Follow the institution’s course outline, lesson plans, and instructional schedule.
Assist the institution in maintaining curriculum standards consistent with state regulations and industry best practices.
Assess student performance through written examinations, practical evaluations, and competency demonstrations.
Provide regular feedback to students regarding their progress and skill development.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and practical hours.
Ensure that all training activities comply with DPOR regulations and institutional policies.
Assist the school in maintaining documentation required for inspections or regulatory reviews.
Promote adherence to professional standards required for licensure and safe practice.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of esthetics equipment and tools used during training.
Verify that students follow appropriate safety procedures when operating equipment or performing advanced treatments.
Maintain a safe and sanitary clinical environment.
Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and industry best practices.
Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies, skincare products, and esthetic procedures.
Participate in professional development activities to enhance instructional effectiveness.
