    Job Description

    ABOUT THE JOB

    Under the direction of a product engineer, the Product Engineering Co-op performs assignments in the development and investigation of new products and technologies, as well as supports existing product improvements and maintenance.  The Product Engineering Co-op will also support projects in terms of designing, coordinating samples, prototyping, and product testing and validation.

    YOUR ROLE:  

    • Works with Product Engineers, Designers, and Manufacturing Engineers to develop and implement product improvements
    • Oversees and participates in product testing
    • Creates and updates Creo Parametric and/or SolidWorks models and drawings
    • Develops CAD models, bills of materials, and other documentation necessary to support the conceptualization, documentation, validation, release and implementation of mechanical security products.
    • Other duties as required
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program with at least a sophomore standing and a 3.00 GPA
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Able to demonstrate strong problem-solving ability
    • Familiarity with parametric CAD software
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Ability to perform basic engineering calculations
    •  Experience with electromechanical prototyping (3-D printing, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.)
    • Hands-on experience with design and fabrication, including professional or hobbyist projects
