Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, implementing, and sustaining continuous improvement efforts using lean manufacturing and project management principles in support of meeting financial, business and leadership development goals. These efforts include Kaizen improvements, Standard Work and Process development, 5S, Problem Solving, Lean Training, and Project Management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Including but not limited to:
Develop and execute lean initiatives, including: standard work, process engineering, value stream mapping, 5S, visual work-center, Kanban, and other lean tools and principles.
Will create documents and update standard work documents in support of production processes.
Drive process improvement efforts through Kaizen, Problem Solving and Program Management activities toward improving Team Member Quality of Life, and Customer’s Product Quality using deliberate planning and execution, and a PDCA methodology.
Develop and Reengineer processes toward continuously improving operational flows, efficiencies, and work efforts.
Develop and maintain detailed process maps, metrics, and control plans for the key manufacturing processes.
Train and coach process owners, process improvement leaders, project teams and line team members in the use of standard work, 5S, improvement tools and problem solving.
Acts as change agent to instill Lean culture throughout the plant.
Support projects such as: costs reduction efforts, process control improvements, machine reliability improvements, and new product and process introduction.
Identify gaps in processes using observations, research, and benchmarking to initiate, plan and execute improvement initiatives.
