    Job Description

    Lead the Distributed Assembly (DA) scheduling team within the Stock Business Unit. This team supports demand management, production scheduling, transportation management, and reporting functions for our Diamond Now, Mantra and Project Source product lines. This leader will be responsible for production scheduling and transportation coordination with Home Depot, Lowe’s and internal logistics to allow 6 manufacturing facilities to execute production without interruption while meeting customer needs.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Production Scheduling:
      • Working with the plant GM’s and Materials Manager’s, provide balanced production schedules that allow customer requirements to be met while maintaining operational efficiency. 
      • Facilitate discussions with sales, materials, customer service, operations, and finance as necessary to ensure that all requirements and capacity constraints are understood, and the best decisions are being made with regards to production scheduling, transportation, customer service and costs.
      • Ensure that plant schedules are aligned to S&OP plans and identify corrective action if not on plan. Work closely with the Sr. Manager, Scheduling and S&OP to ensure that production plans are understood and escalate any variances to plan.
    • Transportation
      • Serve as the main transportation point of contact for the manufacturing facilities and our retail customers.
      • Take appropriate actions with a high sense of urgency to ensure transportation does not impact production operations and that product is delivered on time & complete to our customers.
      • Gain an understanding of all inbound and outbound transportation activity at each facility, identifying and implementing improvements.
      • Coordinate with internal carrier operations and dispatch personnel to arrange prepaid freight transportation when customer transportation is not available to support requirements. Validate costs and ensure business maintains adequate profitability when these decisions are considered.
    • Continuous Improvement
      • Utilize problem solving tools, such as Lean and Six Sigma, to identify root cause, develop solutions and deploy immediate and long-term countermeasures to prevent future occurrences.
      • Facilitate cross training and mentoring activities to provide skill development and improve the functional expertise of the team.
      • Reduce and/or eliminate non-value added activities utilizing process change, system enhancement, or system automation.
      • Monitor plant performance to identify areas for improvement.  This will include daily management of key metrics as identified by the team and key stakeholders.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Supply Chain, Business or related field strongly preferred
    • 5+ years of experience in Logistics, Sales and Operations Planning, Scheduling, Production, and/or Warehousing
    • 2+ years of experience in management and/or team leadership
    • Demonstrated experience leading cross functionally, internal and external, to meet shared objectives
    • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, Lean/Six Sigma training and/or certification preferred
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be highly organized
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Strong team building skills
    • Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Minimal Travel
