    Job Description

    Manage the administration of MasterBrand Cabinet’s defined contribution and defined benefit retirement programs.  Oversee retirement plan audits and required benefit plan filings including 5500s, 11ks, PBGC premium payments, SARs and others as required to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws.  

    THIS ROLE CAN BE FULLY REMOTE. WE HAVE HUBS IN CLEVELAND, CHICAGO, AND DALLAS. 

    Responsibilities:  

    • Play a key role in the design, development and administration/recordkeeping of employee retirement benefit plans including DB and DC plans.   
    • Work with plan record-keepers and payroll vendors to ensure that all defined contribution plans are accurately administered in accordance with plan documents and applicable regulations. Oversee the preparation of annual non-discrimination testing and coordinate plan-specific reports as needed. 
    • Work with record-keeper and plan actuaries to coordinate administration of defined benefit plans including plan contribution funding. Review trustee reports ensuring transactions are correctly processed and reported. Ensure pension plan(s) are administered in compliance with plan provisions, ERISA, and regulatory requirements.  
    • Manage the administration of a non-qualified Supplemental Retirement Plan (SRP) to ensure administration in accordance with plan documents, ERISA, 409(A), and other regulatory requirements. 
    • Oversee all required ERISA plan audits including responding to questions, researching information for the auditors and reviewing financial statements.  
    • Manage the preparation and submission of benefit plan filings and reports for DC, DB & other plans including 5500s (extensions and final filings), 11ks, PBGC (initial and final filings) and Summary Annual Reports. 
    • Resolve issues that arise with record-keepers, plan actuaries and payroll vendors in connection with plan administration.  
    • Manage plan mergers and spin-off projects for all retirement plans including any M&A due diligence.    
    • Monitor retirement industry trends and new regulations impacting our company and benefit plans.   
    • Manage all required plan amendments, restatements, and updates to summary plan descriptions.     
    • Work with Manager, H&W to develop an annual benefits compliance calendar and coordinate with benefit team members to ensure due dates are consistently met for notice distributions, plan disclosures, and various plan-related regulatory filings.  
    • Manage retirement plan provider relationships including overseeing day-to-day plan administration and monitoring service level agreements. 
    • Lead internal controls review and improvement processes for all retirement plans.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of experience in designing and administering defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans.   
    • Strong knowledge of laws related to retirement benefits (i.e., ERISA, IRS, PBGC DOL) and experience with 5500 and PBGC filings is necessary.  
    • Advanced knowledge of qualified and non-qualified plans including experience with drafting/interpreting plan documents, record-keeping and plan administration.   
    • Demonstrated experience in developing, overseeing, and managing an effective benefits compliance program. 
    • Relevant benefits certifications a plus.
