    Job Description

    Summary

    The International Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for finalizing record-keeping Customs Compliance activities in alignment with International Trade compliance policy, procedures, and timelines. This role requires maintaining accurate records, managing/approving vendor invoices, and controlling, reviewing, and auditing data for record keeping. The individual will approve and submit payables for international trade transactions, ensuring compliance with policies and coordinating with team members to finalize entry records according to policy

    Key Accountabilities ****

    • Meet goals and deliverables that support key business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
    • Effectively communicate with vendors, internal team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
    • Format, code, review and submit all international invoices and billing summary documentation for accuracy and payment
    • Maintain, create and audit additional invoices received
    • Audit – review value and other key statistical requirements declared on Customs’ declaration transactions as well as other government forms, such as Lacey, TSCA, FDA, and FCC.
    • Update, maintain, manage and improve systems/databases for all supplier contact information and compliance certifications and trade compliance documents.
    • Assist with developing, implementing, communicating and improving compliance policies and procedures to internal and external MBCI vendors.
    • Maintain the filing/record keeping requirements for the Compliance Department
    • Oversee data Integrity for all source documentation required by U.S. Customs Border Control’s A(1)a list
    • Maintain recordkeeping review and audit process controls
    • Maintain historical databases for audit and Customs and record keeping provisions
    • Perform annual NAFTA “Trust but Verify” supplier audits
    • Manage and update system exceptions for shipments going to Canada, and maintain records for export.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Supply Chain, Business or related field required.
    • Demonstrated analytical capabilities.
    • Chinese/Spanish Language Proficiency a plus
    • Demonstrated ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies. Attention to detail is a must
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and organize tasks
    • Ability to communicate via email and over the phone to ask detailed questions and follow up for answers
    • Excellent attitude, aptitude to learn and work independently.
    • Must have a committed, conscientious work ethic with a need for organization and accuracy
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
    • Occasional travel.
