    Job Description

    You will be responsible for leading a Materials Management organization supporting a $100m kitchen cabinet assembly plant.  Key element of this position will be developing and deploying best practices for both day-to-day operations and long-range planning for all aspects of materials/ distribution management.  This includes receiving, storage, inventory control, customer backorder recovery, space planning, and 3PL management.   As a Materials Leader, you will be expected to accomplish this through effective daily management, mentoring, coaching, and lean practices.   Key objectives will include safety, quality, productivity, cost, customer service, and inventory accuracy. 

    The position will have 5 direct reports and indirectly lead others as well. 

    Responsibilities: 

    • Performance of the materials management team.  Including receiving, storage, inventory control, customer backorder recovery, space planning, and 3PL management
    • Meet objectives related to safety, quality, productivity, cost, customer service, and inventory accuracy.
    • Implement best practices through MasterBrand defined lean practices including Kaizen events, value stream mapping, problem-solving, A3 action planning, and standard work.   Leading events and training on key concepts
    • Utilize a data-driven approach to ensure workflow, customer service and storage optimization.  Anticipating issues and taking action to resolve bottlenecks and inefficient material flow.
    • Manage/coordinate the planning and implementation of multiple projects relating to materials, distribution, capacity planning, layout, process mapping, methods engineering, economic analysis, new product introduction, capital equipment justification, as well as organizational planning.
    • Regularly audit current practices to challenge the teams, bring awareness to opportunities, and to make sure that continuous improvement becomes a mindset
    • Assist and mentor teams with planning and facilitation of business unit plans
    • Become a key supporting member of the Stock Kitchen materials management team, defining the vision, goals, metrics, and strategic actions needed to support the business.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management
    • Minimum of 3 years management experience in manufacturing, warehousing or distribution
    • APICS CPIM accreditation preferred
    • Lean certification or equivalent experience
    • Experience with warehouse management systems
    • Expertise with Excel, PowerPoint

    Hiring Range: $80,000 - $120,000
