    SUMMARY

    As the Japan Marketing Manager you will take corporate (US-based) marketing offers, systems and processes and use your knowledge and experience of marketing in Japan to plan and execute multi-channel, multi-touch programs that achieve awareness, demand, pipeline acceleration and customer marketing objectives. You will partner with Japan sales leaders to determine the strategic priorities for your specific market. You will then use corporate marketing offers, systems and processes to create a set of marketing objectives and programs to meet these business priorities for your segment. You will decide the optimal mix of channels (both digital and events), vendors and offers to most effectively use your budget to hit pipeline and revenue targets. To be successful in this role you must have a complete understanding of marketing and sales processes in the Japan region and to forge partnerships with multiple disciplines including Japan Sales, Demand Gen, Event Marketing, Content Marketing, Product Marketing and Brand Marketing.

    ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and execute measurable demand creation and pipeline acceleration programs that predictably create quality pipeline and support Sales to convert it to revenue
    • Optimize and manage overall marketing spend in Japan
    • Drive regular alignment with Japan-based sales channel management on programs to influence key pipeline opportunities
    • Create quarterly tactical plans to efficiently spend budget to hit pipeline targets
    • Work with corporate event and digital marketing to ensure a balanced program portfolio, adjusting as required by changing market conditions and emerging opportunities
    • Coordinate with Content team on content offers that are relevant and engaging to Japan prospects utilizing corporate assets as much as possible
    • Coordinate with the web team to optimize the Japan website for SEO and overall conversion
    • Help plan and execute the Japan User Conference leveraging learnings from the US User Conference.
    • Work with website resources and digital channel managers to ensure a best-in-class web/digital experience, with best-in-class engagement and conversion rates
    • Assess performance, create strategies and work with testing teams to optimize conversion rates
    • Help optimize the end-to-end lead management process for Japan to align with US-based Marketing operations, including lead capture, scoring, nurturing, recycle, and SLAs
    • For Japan: forecast, measure, analyze and report on the impact of all demand creation activities (both in-person and digital) on Japan sales pipeline, revenue and sales cycle length
    • Evaluate, select and manage outside Japan-based vendors that contribute to demand creation and field marketing programs
    • Proactively engage with Japan sales to determine sales needs and work with marketing resources to develop training and content to enable sales to execute appropriate tactics
    • Communicate and educate the Japan sales team regarding new and planned marketing activities
    • Predictably hit Japan Pipeline targets
    • Will need to travel to Japan (3x / year)

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    • BA or BS degree
    • 5+ years B2B experience executing successful awareness, demand creation, lead nurturing and pipeline acceleration programs
    • Direct experience marketing in Japan
    • Knowledge of modern marketing frameworks and strategies e.g. account-based marketing, demand type, relative targeting and the b-to-b buying cycle
    • Mastery of Demand Waterfall processes and metrics
    • Understanding of lead scoring attributes and schematics
    • Demonstrated knowledge of channel-specific conversion reporting/metrics e.g. email vs display ads vs events
    • Experienced in designing and implementing multi-touch, multi-channel marketing program plan specifically for Japan region
    • Strong knowledge of supporting technologies including: Marketing automation (Pardot preferred), Sales force automation (SFDC preferred), Web content management, Web analytics, Business intelligence
    • Proven record of supporting sales to meet or exceed pipeline and revenue targets
    • History of budget management
    • Fluency in Japanese is a plus

    • Highly motivated individual who thrives in a multicultural, fast-paced team environment and is readily adaptable to changing market and organizational requirements
    • Willingness to work non-traditional hours occasionally
