Job Title: Material Handler

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm weekends as needed

Pay: $21.17/hour
Position Summary: Performs warehouse material handling activities including servicing all production work areas. Responsibilities include storage, retrieval, packaging, loading, unloading, lift truck operation, driving, and maintaining an organized and safety compliant warehouse. The Material Handler must maintain forklift certification to fulfill job duties.
Essential Functions:
• Monitors and follows production schedules, stages essential raw materials and packaging at workstations to minimize disruption.
• Offloads and inspects incoming freight, verifying that all materials are in good condition and accurately match the packing slip and purchase order.
• Documents damaged items and discrepancies in inventory, notifies appropriate personnel immediately when discrepancies are discovered.
• Ensures that incoming raw materials are properly identified and labeled according to company procedures. Stores incoming stock in appropriate warehouse location, manages stock rotation using a First In First Out (FIFO) system to prevent expired products.
• Accurately selects items for orders by matching product and lot numbers in the warehouse to the information listed on the pick note.
• Records warehouse, work order, and packaging information in an accurate and legible manner in accordance with company procedures.
• Packages inventory securely to minimize the risk of damage during warehouse handling, transportation, and carrier delivery.
• Maintains a clean organized warehouse that efficiently uses space while adhering to health and safety requirements.
• Coordinates with production to retrieve manufactured products contributing to an organized workspace.
• Adheres to safety protocols, ensuring the correct operation of lift trucks and warehouse tools, proper lifting
• methods, and use of personal protective equipment.
Other Duties
• Assists in inventory control efforts as required.
• Assists production as necessary.
• Performs other Material Handler duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements
• Highschool Diploma/GED required.
• Warehouse experience required.
• Forklift experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's) Required
• Knowledge of basic business math.
• Knowledge of applicable product regulations.
• General knowledge of all manufactured and resale products.
• Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Safe forklift and pallet jack operating skills are required.
• Ability to self-motivate and work without direct supervision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk on normal surfaces and sit;

Specific vision abilities required by this job include visual acuity sufficient to read a computer screen and paper documents. Acute hearing is necessary for phone and in-person communication with fellow employees and other contacts.
Working Conditions
This position typically functions in office environment and warehouse/production areas. There will be exposure to moderate noise levels, fumes, dust, chemicals, heat/cold, and allergens especially in the warehouse and production environments.
