    Questions:

    1. Technical Expertise :

    Can you describe your experience with materials and process engineering for cast and/or forged products, specifically involving aerospace alloys such as aluminum, steel, titanium, and nickel?

    Purpose: Validates hands-on experience with required materials and processes.

    2. Problem-Solving & Supplier Interaction:

    Tell me about a time you identified and resolved a material or process issue with a supplier. What steps did you take, and what was the outcome?

    Purpose: Assesses troubleshooting ability, collaboration skills, and supplier engagement.

    3. Standards & Compliance

    What is your familiarity with industry standards such as Nadcap and aerospace material specifications? How have you ensured compliance in previous roles?

    Purpose: Confirms knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality assurance practices.

    Description

    • Provide technical expertise and support in the materials and process engineering of cast and/or forged product.

    • Work as part of a highly engaged and integrated Materials Engineering team.

    • You will collaborate across client Aerospace engineering teams to create solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

    • You will participate in all phases of product development and will be a technical point of contact for less experienced engineers.

    • Based in Tempe, Arizona, this Materials Engineering position will provide support for new and existing cast and/or forged products including aerospace gas turbine engines used for propulsion and auxiliary power.

    • Primary responsibilities include support for materials and processes involved in the design and manufacture of cast/forged parts, as well as regular interaction with suppliers to help resolve issues.

    • May occasionally need to lift 35 pounds single lift.

    YOU MUST HAVE

    • Bachelors' Degree with in STEM

    • 4+ years of experience in materials/process engineering in the casting and/or forging industry

    • 4+ years experience with aluminum, steel, titanium and nickel aerospace cast and/or wrought alloys

    Additional Information

    WE VALUE

    • Bachelor’s Degree with specialization in Materials Science, Material Engineering, Metallurgy, Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

    • Advanced degree in engineering or another related field a plus

    • Understanding and hands-on experience in casting and/or forging (ingot/billet and powder production processes are a plus)

    • Familiarity with industrial materials and processing specifications

    • Familiarity with Nadcap and industry standards, requirements and approvals

    • Capable of assessing new suppliers and determining their strengths and weaknesses

    • Experience with conducting casting and/or forging supplier audits (ingot/billet,powder production, investment castings, and sand casting audits are a plus)

    • Working with and developing suppliers

    • Experience troubleshooting material and process issues, and providing technical solutions for rapid problem solving

    • Liaison work between suppliers and client Engineering, Quality, Supplier Development Engineers (SDE), and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC).

    • Working with Design Engineering

    • Understanding engineering drawings and requirements

    • Experience in Six Sigma, Lean and other process improvement tools

    • Experience with casting and/or forging simulation tools like DEFORM
