Job Description
INFICON is seeking an experienced and analytically driven Materials Manager to lead materials planning, SIOP, demand management, inventory strategy, and planning team leadership for a high‑mix, multi‑level BOM manufacturing environment. This role is central to ensuring material availability, supporting production schedules, and enabling on‑time customer delivery in a fast‑paced, complex operation.
The ideal candidate brings deep SAP expertise, strong cross‑functional leadership skills, and experience operating in advanced technology industries such as semiconductor equipment, analytical instruments, aerospace/defense, or precision manufacturing.
_Key Responsibilities _
MRP Planning & Materials Execution
Lead end‑to‑end MRP execution in SAP across finished goods, subassemblies, and component materials.
Optimize planning parameters and master data to achieve material availability targets while minimizing inventory.
Oversee shortage management, exception handling, and cross‑functional escalation of critical supply risks.
Coordinate intercompany planning for materials sourced from global INFICON sites.
SIOP Leadership
Own the monthly SIOP cycle, ensuring rigorous demand, supply, inventory, and financial alignment.
Prepare and present executive SIOP updates, communicating risks, variances, and recommended actions.
Advance SIOP maturity toward a proactive, forward‑looking 12–18 month planning horizon.
Drive cross‑functional alignment to a consensus demand and supply plan.
Demand Planning & Forecasting
Oversee statistical forecasting and commercial forecast integration through the SIOP Manager.
Improve forecast accuracy, reduce bias, and establish clear accountability across product families.
Support NPI demand planning, long‑lead material planning, and ramp strategies.
Capacity Planning & Constraint Management
Lead monthly RCCP analysis to identify capacity risks and recommend mitigation actions.
Develop scenario modeling capabilities to evaluate supply impacts of demand changes.
Align finite scheduling decisions with material availability and operational constraints.
Inventory Strategy & Working Capital
Define inventory policies, safety stock targets, and buffer strategies for critical parts.
Lead inventory optimization initiatives, including excess reduction, obsolescence mitigation, and right‑sizing.
Report inventory performance metrics and identify required corrective actions.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and develop a high‑performing planning organization, including SIOP, production planners, and planning managers.
Set clear expectations, conduct structured reviews, and create development plans for team members.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and analytical rigor.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations, Business, or related technical field.
Master’s degree (MBA or Supply Chain/Engineering) preferred.
Experience
8–12 years of experience in materials management, production planning, or supply chain operations, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
Experience managing MRP planning in high‑mix, multi‑level BOM environments with global supply chains and SAP.
Industry experience in semiconductor equipment, precision instruments, medical devices, aerospace/defense, or analytical technologies preferred.
Technical & Functional Skills
Advanced SAP PP/MM expertise, including MRP execution, master data, capacity planning, and production order management.
Strong knowledge of SIOP/S&OP processes and experience presenting at executive level.
Proficiency in statistical forecasting, demand planning methodologies, and forecast accuracy metrics.
Familiarity with RCCP, constraint modeling, and finite scheduling concepts.
Advanced analytical skills using Excel and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
Deep knowledge of inventory management principles, safety stock modeling, and working capital optimization.
Preferred Attributes
APICS CPIM or CSCP; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt desired.
Strong communication, facilitation, and cross‑functional leadership skills.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and drive continuous improvement.
Additional Information
The expected salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $130,000 per year. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit-sharing bonus with a target of 10%, as well as 401K match up to 8% (vesting schedule). The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law
