    Materials Process Operator

    Job Summary
    The Materials Process Operator is responsible for producing high-quality ceramic powders by operating both manual and semi-automated equipment. This role supports consistent production by following standardized processes, maintaining equipment, and ensuring product quality and safety standards are met.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Follow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) procedures and identify opportunities to improve workplace safety

    • Perform equipment startups, shutdowns, and product changeovers within standardized production processes

    • Operate manual and semi-automated equipment used in material processing

    • Troubleshoot routine production issues and implement appropriate solutions

    • Execute scheduled preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with documented procedures

    • Follow detailed work instructions and product specifications, including occasional non-routine processing steps

    • Conduct in-process quality checks to ensure product standards are met

    • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth transitions between shifts and production stages

    • Safely operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts, to transport materials within the facility

    • Maintain a clean and organized work area in alignment with 6S standards

    • Track and manage inventory, raw materials, and production supplies accurately

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Basic reading and math skills

    • Ability to complete required training programs

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions

    • Basic mechanical aptitude, including the use of hand and power tools

    • Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively within a team

    • Comfortable using technology, including touch-screen systems and basic software applications

    • Strong time management skills and ability to meet production targets

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment

    • Forklift operation experience

    • Experience working with semi-automated or automated machinery

    Work Environment / Schedule

    • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs

    • Frequent climbing of stairs and use of ladders during shifts

    • Work performed in varying temperature conditions, including hot and cold environments

    • Exposure to dust, moisture, and other typical manufacturing conditions

    Compensation

    • Hourly range: $20.78 – $25.16, based on experience, skills, and qualifications
