Mathnasium of Sherman Oaks is family-owned and rooted in this neighborhood — our co-owner grew up here and attended Sherman Oaks Elementary, the same school many of our students come from today. Our Center Director works alongside every instructor every shift, so you’ll actually learn from someone who loves this work. Our instructors go places. One just left us for Yale, and another is back for the summer after his freshman year at University of Chicago, where he’s majoring in math. WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Teach students from TK through 12th grade using the Mathnasium Method™ — full training provided. • Work one-on-one or at a shared table with 3–4 students grouped by age, each at different points on their Math Journey. • Track student progress and adjust your approach to keep every student engaged. • Help maintain a safe, focused, and welcoming learning environment.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Genuine enthusiasm for math and for working with students of all ages.

• Warmth and patience — parents and kids should feel at ease with you. • Math skills through at least Algebra I (Pre-Calc or Calculus opens more hours and higher pay). • Available 2–4 days per week, Sunday through Thursday — Sunday availability is a big plus! • Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months. • Comfortable with technology and digital learning tools.

THE HIRING PROCESS

We keep things personal. Our process starts with a phone conversation with our Center Director — no pressure, just a genuine get-to-know-you. The next step, for candidates who are a great fit, is our math literacy assessment, which helps us place you with exactly the right students. We also verify work authorization and run a background check. Don’t stress it — it’s not about perfection, it’s about fit. We’re looking for people, not scores.

Mathnasium locations are independently owned and operated by franchisees of Mathnasium Center Licensing, LLC ("Mathnasium"). Franchisees are independent business people and not employed by Mathnasium. Thus, each franchisee and each franchisee center is unique and the franchisee is alone responsible for all employment matters in their center. If you are hired to work at a center, the franchisee will be your employer, not Mathnasium.
