Mather Economics is a management consulting firm that specializes in subscription pricing. We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic HR Generalist who can manage our HR day-to-day operations. This individual will perform standard HR duties such as onboarding, offboarding, benefits management, as well as, employee engagement. Recruiting will be a small part of the role. We have offices in Atlanta, Toronto, and Antwerp, and the successful candidate must be willing to work with employees in different locations and jurisdictions.
We seek an energetic professional with an outgoing, welcoming personality who does not mind wearing multiple hats and enjoys the administrative challenges of supporting the offices of young professionals. To be a successful hire, you will need to have prior experience in human resources and event planning.
The Human Resources Generalist will report to the Director of Finance and will work from our office in the Roswell/Sandy Springs area. This is an on-site, in-office position with an opportunity to do some work remotely once trained.
Manage Employee Lifecycle
- Employee Onboarding
- Schedule background checks and welcome new employees
- Set up and assist with new employee orientations and schedule follow-up meetings to ensure new employees are enrolled in benefits
- Ownership and maintenance of the employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
- Performs administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes, promotions, compensation changes, address and benefit changes
- Employee Offboarding
- Maintains compliance with US federal and state regulations and Canadian federal and provincial policies concerning employment
- Partner with the finance team to administer payroll semi-monthly
- Assist with annual employee training
- Continuously assess and improve internal policies as needed
- Support HR processes – performance management, open enrollment, and provide information about benefits and company policies
- Employee Offboarding
- Schedule exit conversations
- Offboard employee from benefits and complete offboarding paperwork
Employee Engagement
- Planning company activities to create fun opportunities for our employees to feel more connected
- Create new internal employee programs for recognition or small celebrations
- Support and administer initiatives that help create a better work environment
- Contribute and participate in the planning of our annual symposium
Recruiting
- Manage the recruitment page on the Mather Economics website
- Meet with leadership to discuss upcoming company needs and develop sources for qualified applicants
- Draft job descriptions, and manage job postings
- Prescreen candidates, schedule and coordinate interviews, skills assessments, and case study interviews
- Follow up with applicants throughout the interview process
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Human Resource and Benefits Administration experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or PHR preferred but open to other degrees if the experience requirement is met
- Experience with international HR (working with Canadians would be great)
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
