1. About Mathnasium

We help kids in grades 1-12 understand math by teaching the way that makes sense to them.

· We know how to teach children math: Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting – our unique approach enables us to effectively explain math concepts and lend a helping hand to every student. Our tutors foster a caring, encouraging environment that helps kids thrive and learn!

· We pinpoint children’s learning needs, meet them where they are, and take them where they need to go: Mathnasium instructors use our unique assessment process to determine (with great accuracy) exactly what each child knows and what they need to learn. Next, we design a customized learning plan for teaching the concepts the student needs to master. It doesn’t stop there – our encouraging instructors continually check progress along the way to make sure kids truly understand and retain the concepts we’ve taught. The results are transformative – kids will see measurable changes in attitude, confidence, and school progress.

· We will help children overcome homework frustration: Our instructors will also set aside time to provide homework help. We help kids understand the homework assignment, so they feel better prepared to complete the work at home – underscoring their understanding of concepts and transforming homework frustration into a welcome challenge.

2. About Our Center

Mathnasium of Carrollwood has been offering math tutoring and homework help to hundreds of students in the Greater Carrollwood area, which includes the Carrollwood, Lutz, and Odessa communities, since 2009.

Whether a child needs to catch up or get ahead, the expert math staff at Mathnasium of Carrollwood can help. We offer both year-round and Summer-only math programs.

Mathnasium of Carrollwood is located in the Grand Plaza on North Dale Mabry Hwy just south of Bearss Avenue

3. Description of Position

The school and community outreach worker must be a bright and enthusiastic person, able to partner with local schools and organizations in Carrollwood. This person will need strong communication skills, enthusiasm for students/education, and a tenacious personality. They must have excellent time management skills and be detail oriented. This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling and ongoing training opportunities. The School and Community Outreach Coordinator is a key person that will contribute to the successful business operations of the center.

4. Key Responsibilities

· Building new relationships & maintaining current relationships with local schools

· Foster ongoing relationships and visit with local schools and organizations

· PTA outreach and engagement

· Coordinate and attend Math/STEM events at schools

· Organize and Clean-up event materials after Math/STEM Night events

· Attend other local networking & community events.

· Phones calls: Make Care calls & Lead follow-up after events using the “Math Model” Method

· Develop yearly marketing plan in December for the next calendar year

· Update Yearly Marketing plan on a quarterly basis

· Design, order and put together materials for marketing (banners, documents, etc…)

· Assist in developing a plan to increase exposure in the community.

· Assist in developing materials for parents, students, microsite, and social media.

· Assist in selling memberships & give support to the center as needed

· Implementing and continuing Center Activities and student incentives
