    Mathnasium is a highly regarded math-only learning center dedicated to helping students of all ages improve their math skills and build confidence in their abilities. Our approach focuses on personalized learning plans tailored to each student's needs, creating a supportive and engaging environment where math becomes accessible and enjoyable.

    What You Will Do…

    As a Lead Instructor at Mathnasium, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic success while gaining valuable teaching experience. You will work closely with students in grades 1 through 12, assessing their current math proficiency, identifying areas for improvement, and developing customized learning plans to address their specific needs. A Lead Instructor must have excellent communication and organizational skills. A lead instructor serves as the primary support to the Center Director. They must be proficient in all levels of math up to pre-calculus.

    The Mathnasium Lead Instructor is responsible for leading the instructional floor, directing Instructors to ensure all students receive appropriate attention, coaching Instructors on how to improve their instructional abilities and their use of the Mathnasium method, as well as, providing exceptional instruction to students of all ages. Lead Instructors are capable of effectively balancing leadership and instructional responsibilities. The Lead Instructors are the instructional floor leaders of the Mathnasium center team and are responsible for the successful facilitation of team teaching.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    Understand the company mission and the needs of families, working with the Center Director to create a fun and positive learning environment.

    Building relationships with parents to effectively communicate the benefits of our programs.

    Review and administer assessments to evaluate students in accordance with company policies and procedures.

    Create customized learning plans tailored to a student’s individual needs in line with the Mathnasium curriculum structure.

    Demonstrate good judgment in stressful situations, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining a positive atmosphere within the center.

    Act as a floor leader, responsible for opening and closing the center as needed, ensuring security protocols are followed.

    Manage the center during instructional hours, including assigning students to instructors and adjusting student/instructor ratios as necessary to optimize learning outcomes.

    Ensure all instructors adhere to the Mathnasium Method when teaching students, providing guidance and support as needed.

    Review student needs and educational progress with the Center Director on an ongoing basis, collaborating to develop tailored learning plans.

    Provide constructive feedback to the Center Director regarding instructor and center performance, contributing to the overall improvement of the instructional team and center.

    Participate in local marketing events to promote the center and engage with the community, fostering brand awareness and attracting potential students.

    Requirements

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    Advanced understanding of mathematical concepts through Pre-Calculus.

    Outstanding communication abilities; adept at fostering strong connections with families and colleagues

    Proficient in problem-solving and resolving interpersonal conflicts

    Exhibit sound judgment during high-pressure scenarios

    Exceptional communication skills coupled with the ability to build a rapport with students, parents, and other instructors

    Effective leadership skills; skilled in training, motivating, and assigning tasks to team members

    Outstanding organizational skills and very dependable

    Capable of working autonomously with minimal oversight

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and Google Sheets

    High School diploma or G.E.D. required; some college coursework preferred

    This is a part time position. Lead Instructors typically work between 20 to 25 hours a week, based on center needs. Hours are generally afternoon and evenings Monday - Thursday from 2-9 pm and Saturdays 10-2 pm. Pay is based on education and experience.
