About us:

Mathspace is at the forefront of ed-tech innovation, passionately crafting digital solutions that empower educators and inspire students. We provide students with step-by-step feedback and hints to ensure they receive the right help at the right time no matter when or where they are working. We are currently developing a core curriculum resource for teachers and students in Virginia to fully align with the 2023 Mathematics SOLs. We are looking for passionate educators to join us in our mission as we drive the future of math education in Virginia and across the globe.

Position Overview:

We're seeking dynamic mathematics educators to become integral members of our team as Digital Mathematics Content Creators. In this fully remote and flexible role, you'll have the opportunity to create content aligned with the Virginia Mathematics Standards of Learning and have a lasting impact in math education.

This role is project-based and will conclude upon the project's completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design lesson content, worksheets, teacher guides, and rich tasks aligned to standards and learning objectives.
• Rigorously review and refine content, ensuring the highest standards of quality and alignment.
• Engage in asynchronous collaboration with team members situated in various time zones.
• Utilize basic JSX coding to amplify the digital presentation of content.
• Actively participate in feedback sessions, championing continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Currently certified to teach mathematics in Virginia
• 4+ years of experience teaching Algebra or Geometry Mathematics in Virginia
• Comprehensive understanding of the Virginia Mathematics Standards of Learning for grades 6-8 and AGA
• Proficiency in, or a readiness to learn, basic JSX coding.
• Previous experience in content creation or curriculum design (preferred).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
• Familiarity with advanced digital tools, and an aptitude for leveraging technology in content creation.

Benefits

Contract Details:

• Hourly rate: $30.
• Contract term: 6 months, with a possibility for extension.
• Weekly hours: minimum of 20 hours per week (with the option to go up to 40)
