Matmarket is looking for a candidate to fill a Technical Sales Manager position responsible for account management and sales expansion, based in Portsmouth, NH. This person should be prepared to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment, possess strong work ethic, and a commitment to sales-driven success.
- This position requires an initial training program in Asia (China, Vietnam, Korea). This training program will be 3-6 months in length. Candidate must be willing to live in Asia for this length of time, with transfer to Portsmouth, NH after training is completed.
The Candidate Expectations:
- Manage material/product sales and marketing efforts to branded accounts in eastern USA /Canada/Europe.
- Assisting revenue growth with brand customers through a consultative sales approach, and offering core competencies & services:
o Capable of understanding and communicating technical properties of our products
o Knowledge of material and product manufacturing process and providing navigational assistance of international manufacturing procedures, timelines, duty and tariff structures
o Schedule appointments with existing & new customers to review product requirements and determine available opportunities.
o Conduct customer service by meeting with clients on a frequent basis.
o Serve as the point person between Matmarket and the client (brand office) offering product development and design solutions
o Creation and marketing integration of branded material ranges, create sales presentations of the products and services, assist in seasonal product launches, marketing, trade shows, sales tools, and material developments.
o Prospecting for new business & targets
o Seek and analyze competitor marketing and sales materials
The Candidate Requirements:
- Preference would be given to individual with a textile or material background, natural sales abilities, and 2-3 years of experience in the footwear industry, or related field.
- Any previous laboratory experience, preferably textile, would be advantageous.
- Excellent written and oral communication, and the ability to communicate effectively through Microsoft office.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and able to work independently
- Strategic thought process to solve complex problems.
- Domestic and international travel will be required; valid driver's license and passport needed.
