Summary:

The Planner, Purchased Products, will have a key role in managing inventory strategy at Matouk. This will include analysis of historical sales and data compilation, management of assigned product purchase orders and MRP maintenance for assigned products. This role will collaborate closely with cross functional partners in Manufacturing, Merchandising, Product Development, Finance and Sales and will support the Sr. Director of Planning and Merchandising in planning functions. This role will also work towards development of new planning analysis tools and reports in order to design and implement planning strategies.

Demand Planning

• Maintains forecasting and purchasing worksheets for all products, with the support of the Planning Coordinator. Maintains and compiles data for historical forecasts and maintains related sku plans. Will need to become an expert user of Power BI and Rootstock. Designs new forecasting tools in order to improve efficiencies and better automate current processes.

• Maintains forecasts for wholesale accounts and hotels as provided by sales and updates key documents for sales order tracking and account projections. Builds reporting to support Hotel and Retail Sales strategy and business growth.

• Responsible for weekly stock purchase orders from Tara based on demand and with support from the Planning Coordinator.

• Reviews assigned purchased item inventory levels on a monthly or bi-weekly basis according to the purchasing schedule.

• Recommends and implements finished good purchasing based on vendor minimums and lead times, in partnership with the Sr. Director of Planning.

• Reviews shortage reports to identify urgent purchasing needs for assigned products outside of the planned schedule.

• Tracks purchase orders by vendor deadline to ensure that dates are met and delays are communicated to all internal partners.

• Monitors and revises MRP settings on a regular basis based on product category.

• Utilizes forecast and POS data from planning managers at key wholesale accounts (Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus). Incorporates into internal demand forecasts.

• Becomes an expert in the Matouk product line in order to best understand the nuances of purchasing, discover opportunities, and catch anomalies to ensure that any reliance on automated processes doesn’t cause unforeseen errors. This will be through advanced report building and process design.

• Maintains and provides accurate reports as needed for open inventory and historical information. This includes financial accounting of inventory and fabrics for use by the finance and planning teams.

• Should be an expert user of Rootstock and MRP and compiles reports for regular analysis and updates to the MRP system, including pricing.

• Supports Sr. Director of Planning and Merchandising in other planning-related reporting and strategic initiatives.

Qualification Requirements:

• 4+ years experience working in purchasing, planning, and/or inventory management

• Bachelor’s Degree required

• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills required

• Attention to detail and problem solving skills are required

• Experience managing direct reports

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Excellent knowledge and capabilities in Excel, Intermediate experience with remaining office software, experience and working knowledge of ERP systems, experience with Google suite a plus

• Possesses a sense of urgency required to work in a deadline driven environment

• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills

• Enthusiasm and excitement for the Matouk product line and bedding/home category in general.
