Matrimonial Family Law Attorney - Associate
Seeking an experienced family law attorney with 3-6 years of experience for a busy family law department. Must have excellent writing skills. A writing sample will be required. Benefits: • Competitive Salary • 401(k) • Health insurance • Paid Holidays • Paid Vacation time off • Paid Personal time off • Bonuses • AFLAC • Fun firm-wide events Work Location: In person and remote Responsibilities: • The Family Law Associate will represent clients in family law cases and assist in all aspects of family law litigation, including legal research, drafting legal documents, communication with clients, and appearing in court, mediation, arbitration, etc. • The role requires a compassionate, detail-oriented attorney who is skilled at handling sensitive legal matters with tact and professionalism. • Provide legal advice to clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, and domestic violence. • Conduct client consultations to assess legal issues and gather relevant information. • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court hearings • Analyze case facts and apply relevant law to provide informed legal advice. • Prepare discovery requests and responses, including interrogatories, subpoenas, and document production. • Draft settlement agreements and child custody arrangements. • Prepare Case Information Statements, including adept review of tax returns. • Court Appearances- Attend hearings, trials, and conferences, advocating on behalf of clients. • Manage a caseload of family law cases from intake through resolution. • Maintain accurate and organized case files and client communication. • Work with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure timely and efficient case management. • Regularly communicate with clients to keep them informed about case progress and strategy. • Provide compassionate and empathetic guidance, understanding the emotional nature of family law cases. • Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal teams to develop case strategies and achieve favorable outcomes for clients. • Participate in team meetings and provide updates on case status. Qualifications: • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. • Active license to practice law in New Jersey. • Minimum of 3-6 years of family law experience. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to manage a high caseload and work under pressure. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Job Type: Full-time. • Strong client communications. Compensation: $115,000 - $145,000
