    We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Field Services Technician Intern to join our team. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of technical support and maintenance. The selected candidate will work closely with our experienced Field Services Technicians to provide on-site assistance, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure the optimal functioning of our clients' systems. This position works in a team environment at our home office in Newburgh, IN. This is not a remote position.

    This position reports to the Field Services Manager.

    This is a paid internship.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist senior Field Services Technicians in performing maintenance, repairs, and installations on various technical systems and equipment.

    • Collaborate with team members to conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance visits.

    • Learn and apply troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.

    • Provided excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns professionally and courteously.

    • Document all tasks, repairs, and interactions in a clear and organized manner.

    • Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, colleagues, and clients.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate resources and schedules for on-site visits.

    • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

    Qualifications & Competencies

    • Currently pursuing a certificate from a technical or trade school.

    • Strong interest in technical systems, troubleshooting, and hands-on work.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Basic understanding of technical concepts and willingness to learn new technologies.

    • Ability to work well in a team environment and take direction from senior technicians.

    • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions closely.

    • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as required.

    • Prior experience or coursework related to field services or technical support is a plus.

    Working Conditions

    • The hours for this position are flexible based on the class schedule of the candidate.

    • Travel will be expected to various client locations.

    • The candidate will be required to work underground.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near large moving machinery.

    • Customer operations may contain airborne particles and allergens.

    • The employee can be at risk of electrical shock.

    • Matrix employees are furnished and required to wear safety gear such as hard hats, steel toe shoes, reflective clothing, earplugs, and safety glasses.

    Physical Requirements

    The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, or crouch. The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
