Matrix New World Engineering is currently seeking a Principal Environmental Remediation Practice Leader. This is a strategic position for a seller-doer to build a national practice utilizing resources from all offices across the U.S. The successful candidate will report to top Matrix leadership and will develop, oversee and manage complex environmental engineering and remediation projects. The ideal candidate possesses an entrepreneurial spirit, is enthusiastic, self-motivated and has a strong desire to build a solid practice to enhance and complement our current offering of remediation services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site investigations, assessments, designs, or other technical tasks for existing or potential clients.
- Grow the existing client and project work base and develop new projects and clients, along with client and program management, and create new business development initiatives.
- Identify and pursue new project opportunities with existing or new clients.
- Leads key pursuit efforts.
- Prepare and present proposals, budgets, contracts, and reports.
- Communicate and coordinate with internal and external team members.
- Evaluate and improve the quality and effectiveness of the services delivered.
- Lead and direct the technical aspects of remediation projects, such as site investigation, feasibility studies, remedial design, remedial action, and site closure.
- Develop and implement remediation strategies and plans that are feasible, cost-effective, and compliant with applicable regulations and standards.
- Supervise and mentor the remediation engineering staff and providing technical guidance and support.
- Communicate and coordinate with clients, regulators, stakeholders, and community members.
- Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, budgets, permits, and contracts.
- Evaluate the performance and effectiveness of remediation technologies and methods.
- Stay updated on the latest developments and innovations in the field of environmental remediation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, geology, or hydrogeology or a related field required.
- Master's degree or higher in environmental engineering, civil engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or a related field preferred.
- A professional engineer (PE) or professional geologist (PG) license or certification in the relevant state preferred.
- At least 15 to 20 years of experience in environmental remediation projects involving various contaminants, media, and technologies.
- Ability to bridge multiple offices and disciplines to build a national practice.
- Proficiency in using various software tools for data analysis, modeling, design, and project management.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of the principles and standards of scientific study, field investigation and sampling, and research and documentation.
- Excellence in analytical techniques and modeling in solving technical problems with an extreme level of complexity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Must possess a valid driver's license, with a clean driving record, and be willing to travel and conduct field work as needed.
- Core competency in Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
