    Matrix Pack North America, the leading manufacturer of paper straws right here in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. and with our current expansion plans, will soon be producing bio-resin straws as well, is in need of a talented Production Manager to oversee our production output! In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day activities at our Portland plant. The Production Manager plans, schedules, strategizes, implements and oversees all production activity while continually improving processes and methods to maintain profitability.

    Production Manager Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the activities of production team members so that quality, sanitation standards, safety standards, production procedures, and scheduling requirements meet standards.
    • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands.
    • Expected to quickly gain proficiency when new procedures, equipment, methods are added or changed.
    • Monitor production output and adjust schedules as needed to optimize productivity
    • Maintains discipline of employees under their jurisdiction, in accordance with established rules and regulations. Initiates verbal and written warnings and recommends further disciplinary action as required.
    • Report on any machine breakdown that occurs within the plan and devise a root cause analysis as to why it happened. -Prepare reports concerning activities as required on a daily basis and assure all reports are complete and accurate.
    • Assure all company quality standards are maintained.
    • Train and supervise production staff, providing guidance and support as needed
    • Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance productivity and reduce waste. - Maintain a positive team-oriented attitude.
    • Keep Operations Director informed of all situations, activities and deviations from normal operations.
    • Make suggestions regarding improvements in production methods, including use of available personnel.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment
    • Maintain accurate production records and reports
    • Perform other work duties as required

    Production Manager Qualifications:

    • At least 1+ years in previous experience in a production management role or similar position.
    • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, machine operation and manufacturing processes
    • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and other equipment necessary for fabrication and/or assembly
    • Familiarity with forklift operation and safety protocols
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills
    • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
    • Bilingual (English & Spanish) strongly preferred but not required
