    Process - Mechanical Engineering

    We are looking for a self-driven, energetic Mechanical Engineer to join our team to develop long-term customer relationships through delivering successful Process-Mechanical engineering projects. The primary role of the Mechanical Engineering Consultant position is to work directly with Clients, Project Managers and Matrix discipline leads to design the best, most efficient, most client cost-effective process-mechanical layouts and designs possible.

    Do you have experience designing Industrial processing systems? The Role will be responsible for leading customer processing, manufacturing or packaging projects including the specification of mechanical equipment, coordination with vendors, modeling of OEM equipment, coordinating the design of fabricated parts and equipment, layout of mechanical processing equipment in facilities, and overseeing drawing production upon completion of design.

    Do you have an eye for detail? Details are key to any successful project. The Process-Mechanical Engineer must have the highest regard for details of design, drawing standards, safety, schedules, budgets and communication.


    Are you a fantastic communicator? In order for the Process-Mechanical Engineer to excel in this position, a thorough knowledge of grammar usage with excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills is required. These communication skills are vital to positive communications directly with clients and internal team members alike.

    Are you self-driven? The Process-Mechanical Engineer will be expected to demonstrate an innate ability to perform multiple tasks under limited supervision, ability to follow tasks to completion, excellent organization skills and a characteristic ability to excel in a team environment.

    The Process-Mechanical Engineer position requires a fully competent engineer to lead projects and project teams. The Engineer will apply diverse knowledge of engineering principles, specific industry practice, material handling practices, and process engineering knowledge in broad areas of assignment. This employee will plan, develop, and direct one large engineering project or a number of small projects, usually coordinating the work of less experienced engineers, technical assistants, and drafters.

    Create solutions to real-world issues that help our customers grow. You will serve as the client-facing subject matter expert in a broad range of industrial Manufacturing system designs. This is a fast paced and exciting position that will require you to maintain existing client relationships as well as develop new project opportunities.


    Lead a project team and manage a project from concept through implementation. You will conduct pre-project review meetings and project review meetings to ensure total project awareness, supervise and direct assigned project personnel, and control projects including productivity, budgets, project changes, and adherence to predefined scope of services.

    Additional engagements to be expected in the role include:

    • Provide work format conducive to a learning experience for subordinate personnel.
    • Work with Department Manager to implement methods to improve departmental efficiency.
    • Specify and layout processing equipment, including dust collection, air conveyance, screw and belt conveyors, bins, tanks, mills, screeners, chutes and transitions.
    • Solicit equipment quotations, review and make recommendations as the client representative.
    • Lead the production of clear design and construction packages, including Layouts and Detail Drawings, Equipment Lists and BOMs, and Scopes of Work.
    • Lead contractor bid walks, evaluate bids, and make recommendations as the client representative.
    • Develop budgets and proposals for design engineering services, as well as overall capital project schedules and cost estimates.

    • Four-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited school or significant relevant experience.
    • 7+ years of engineering experience.
    • Dust collection, food processing, bulk material handling, air conveyance and related Process-Mechanical system experience.
    • Works safely at all times.
    • Proficient with AutoCAD 2D.
    • Working knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, PMMI and NFPA safety standards.
    • Proficient with 3-Dimensional design, AutoCAD 3D, Solidworks, 3D Point Clouds.
    • Ability to travel locally or travel to alternate work sites will be required to support Matrix clients and projects.
    • Ability to occasionally travel overnight will be required to support Matrix clients and projects.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear.
    • The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds
    • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
    • This employee may perform industrial field work which could include exposure to hazardous locations, inclement weather, moving mechanical parts, noise, ladders, uneven ground, and stairs
    • This employee may perform industrial field work which could include exposure to a wide range of known food allergens
