    Job Description

    The PRINCIPAL FINANCIAL ANALYST will perform financial accounting and reporting responsibilities including, budgeting, and forecasting, results tracking, detailed financial analysis, month-end accrual preparation, general financial decision guidance to budget owners and ad-hoc financial project support. This individual will work with others throughout the organization to obtain information to perform assigned duties and will assist in other Business Office projects as needed.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    • Act as a strategic business partner by providing strategic and financial guidance to business area owners in the development of annual G&A budgets, long-range Capital plans and monthly financial forecasts.
    • Manage and monitor current financial progress against budgets & forecasts, work with business and functional area leaders to explain any variances and report monthly results to senior leadership team. Ability to see trends of current financial to help predict future outcomes.

    • Produce NPV models and provide financial and accounting guidance on proposed capital projects. Responsible for finance approval of all project proposals prior to submission to leadership team.
    • Manage Employee Headcount reporting for use in budgeting, forecasting and organization chart updates.
    • Manage and report contractor rates, tenure, location, etc. for monthly finance results meeting with CIO and IT Services’ Senior Management team. Oversee SOW process to ensure the pipeline of new contracts align with goals for onshore/offshore ratios.
    • Manage Month-End Close Process Ownership/Participation:
      • Meet monthly with business area owners to review actual expenses and determine current month accrual needs.
      • Review monthly cost transfers to other organizations and confirm automated process is producing accurate results.
      • Perform monthly reconciliation of amortization and work with Corporate Accounting to resolve any differences.
      • Identify accounts payable coding errors; prepare and submit correcting journal entries as needed.
    • Liaison between FP&A & stakeholders across the organization on key Finance issues.
    • Answer accounting and financial questions by interpreting data and responding in a timely manner to the financial information needs of management as requested.
    • Provide ad-hoc reporting and trend analysis to senior leadership team as requested.
    • Serve has back-up to IT Procurement office when primary resource is on PTO.
    • May be required to commit to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals and/or deadlines (i.e., month end close and strategic planning/budget season).

    YOU HAVE THESE SKILLS:

    • Financial analysis and computer (PC) skills primarily using Microsoft’s business suite of products including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
    • Strong experience in MS Excel, proficient in MS PowerPoint.

    AND THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting from a four-year college or university is required.
    • Five to seven years in a professional business environment where experience with Financial Planning or Accounting was majority of tenure.
    • Strong background in accounting.
