    Job Description

    THE OPPORTUNITY: 

    Mattel is seeking a versatile and motivated Jr to Sr Product Designer to join its Monster High and Fashion Doll IP product design team. Do you love fashion dolls?  Do you love Monster High and are you excited to pitch and create the next big fashion doll brand?  From the team that brought you brands like Creatable World and Cave Club, our design team is focused on creating new fashion doll brands and working on Mattel in-house doll brands such as Monster High and the Skullector line.  The ideal candidate will be a trend-focused designer and storyteller who is excited about fashion and is able to work on many different types of products (playsets, fashion dolls, feature items) and pitching new concepts and fashion doll lines.

    WHAT YOUR IMPACT WILL BE: 

     

    • Actively generate new ideas to enhance the current brands
    • Create, contribute to, and pitch new fashion doll lines
    • Craft compelling stories around product and product lines
    • Execute on both Product Designs and Graphic Designs
    • Design and develop dolls, playsets, and feature items
    • Partner with content team to maximize content and product
    • Partner with Design, Engineering, Packaging and Cost Engineering to ensure product integrity and marketing objectives
    • Daily communication with Asia partners
    • Successfully present and communicate their concepts to the design and marketing management and creative departments
  • Qualifications

    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: 

     

    • Passion for fashion dolls
    • Doll and playset design experience
    • Knowledge of the current trends in fashion and toy
    • Portfolio demonstrating strong design excellence and superior problem solving
    • Understanding of features and play patterns
    • Collaborative team worker
    • Ability to manage multiple projects
    • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing process
    • Must be proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and 2D computer programs
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills
    • Knowledge of 3D CAD (Alias, Rhino 3D is a plus)
