    Job Description

    THE OPPORTUNITY: 

    Mattel is seeking a master of all trades in graphic and product design to work on all of the Barbie and Fashion Dolls lines. This role will take conceptual art and bring them to life in 2D & 3D form. The multifaceted workload gives the opportunity to work on all phases of the development process in various creative mediums on production of products, One of a Kind dolls, presentation and inhouse media. The ideal designer must be highly skilled in digital illustrating of children friendly art in cute photo real styles. (not portrait, croquis or stylized art).  This opportunity has hands on experience in all faucets of doll and playset ideation, creation and production.

    WHAT YOUR IMPACT WILL BE: 

    • Actively generate new visuals and 3D elements to enhance ideated concepts.
    • Partner with Design, Engineering, Packaging and Cost Engineering to ensure product integrity and marketing objectives on product and other visuals are achieved.
    • Execute on both Product Designs and Graphic Designs through to final art.
    • Design, illustrate, build and develop presentation pieces on various lines or segments.
    • Establish working relationships with in-house and abroad team players.
    • Manage design development on various lines with in the company including Sculpting,  Model Makers and Soft Good Designers.

    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: 

    • 4+ Years Professional Experience (Design, illustration, Toy Design or equivalent).
    • Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suites, Microsoft &  Knowledge of 3D CAD: Photoshop, Illustrator, and Power Point must (Alias, Rhino 3D is a plus).
    • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing process including color theory, 3D, fabric and graphic printing.
    • Ability to project manage multiple varied projects at once is a must.
    • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment with cross functional partners.
    • Communicate design direction and able to trouble shoot in receiving and moving projects forward.
    • Ideal candidate will exhibit interest and knowledge of the current trends in varied age groups and target markets.
    • Portfolio demonstrating strong design excellence and superior hand skills.

    • Artistic with multi-faceted interests and skills.
    • Easily adjust to change, ”Pivot” and organized thinker in juggling priorities and workloads.
    • Passionate about 'Play'.
    • Efficient with time management.
