    Job Description

    THE OPPORTUNITY: 

    Mattel is currently seeking a Testing Center of Excellence (TCOE) Manager/Sr Manager in El Segundo, CA. This role will be a member of a dynamic team focused on Standardized & Predictable Test engagement, drive effective utilization of automation skillsets and continuously improve and innovate, developing and enriching QA assets. The TCOE Manager will be involved in driving test engagements across multiple strategic projects ensuring TCOE guidelines are being followed across various phases of testing. This position reports directly into the Director, Enterprise Application Services.

    WHAT YOUR IMPACT WILL BE: 

    • Provide testing leadership and guidance to the team by architecting testing frameworks, establishing, and applying testing standards. 
    • Oversee all aspects of the delivery for project work that your team is involved. This will include estimation, resource planning, test planning, test strategy, test execution, risk identification and mitigation, issue resolution, reporting, etc.
    • Collaborate with Software Engineering Leaders, Project Managers, Product Managers, and others to ensure smooth integration of QA into the SDLC.
    • Act as a quality champion by striving for excellence and driving continual improvements within the team.
    • Research and stay up to date on the latest tools, technologies, trends, and approaches with the QA space and incorporating the ones that make sense.
    • Continuously monitor and calibrate all QA activities, test results, and actively lead active root cause analysis, to identify areas of improvement and drive required improvements
    • Optimize the testing approach and increase quality by leveraging context-driven testing principles and value-added automation.
    • Ensure constant update and improvement of testing guidelines through TCOE outreach and measurable efficiency gains.
    • Collaboration with QA Director and drive Quality initiatives and promote Quality awareness and mindset
  • Qualifications

    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience  
    • 8+ years relevant experience in Quality Assurance & Testing
    • Experienced in setting up TCOE, defining goals, objectives, vision and roadmap
    • Experienced in KM initiatives, Test Artefacts creation & standardization
    • Experienced in managing quality & metrics, risks/issues, QA Effort estimates, QA Audits, TCOE Tools and Process, Automation Planning
    • Stakeholder management, Integration & Maintenance of TCOE with Operating Model working along with Leadership Team & PMO
    • Drive Delivery Transformation & Innovation, Best practices implementation
    • Experienced in Test Strategizing and Test Planning for large strategic programs
    • Proven history of successfully coordinating and executing all aspects of testing efforts from project inception to post launch
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate and articulate to stakeholders and management across multiple business functions
    • Strong risk management skills and a knack for recognizing and anticipating things that would eventually turn into problems (problem avoidance vs reactiveness)
    • Solid understanding of Functional, Non-Functional, Integration, System, Regression, and End to End testing
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions
    • A strong passion for quality, an unrelenting attention to detail, and the proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
