    Job Description

    THE OPPORTUNITY: 

    Mattel Inc is looking for a Business Analyst who is highly motivated and energetic to join our Corporate EPM Team. This individual will report to the Corporate EPM Team Sr Manager and will be responsible for escalation of support issues for the daily operations and enhancements of Hyperion HFM, PBCS, Essbase, FDM EE/DM, Smartview and their availability to end users. This individual will also have a key role in our Next Generation (NextGen) Finance Project which will be an implementation of the Oracle Cloud EPM Suite and will assist users in their move to FCCS and the EPBCS suite, and will play an integral role in the setup and continual support of this exciting new EPM platform for Mattel.

    WHAT YOUR IMPACT WILL BE: 

    • Partner with Senior Manager in providing production support to the Kyriba Treasury System.  Will coordinate with other IT Support Teams (i.e. Oracle Team, Informatica Team, High Radius Team) with the Shared Services Cash Management Team in troubleshooting issues related to the bank statement interfaces from Kyriba to Oracle and other downstream systems.
    • Manage and guide team members who are working on development and enhancement projects.
    • Support the Senior Manager in managing and guiding the team during close process, especially quarter and year-end close in making sure all EPM applications and interfaces are running per schedule. Will assist in assessing current processes and identify improvements, test and apply them in production.
    • Interface with the different Finance Teams (i.e. Controllers, FP&A, Treasury and Regional Teams) during the close process, AOP/Forecast process and projects to better understand their needs during these cycles.  For projects, the BA will interface with different Finance Teams to understand their business requirements to document the functional and technical requirements.
    • Work with 3rd party vendor on the Next Gen Project to review the BRD and design documents to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness.
    • Conduct and participate on CRP (conference room pilot) sessions conducted by 3rd party on the Next-Gen project to review project development progress. The BA will work with the business stakeholders to review each CRP and elevate any concerns to the 3rd party vendor.
    • Lead requirements and design discussion with IT and business resources; be able to demonstrate the primary features and functionalities of an application and how it works and impact to the business processes and users.
    • Working side-by-side with the Senior Managers to identify future improvements to the different EPM applications supported by the team to further enhance processes, usage and full functionalities for the business owners.
    • Supporting the Next-Gen testing (i.e. CRP, SIT, UAT) to ensure all required controls are met during the process.
    • Managing the team on the annual DR testing for HFM and FCCS post go-live.
    • Managing the team on the monthly security patching and close prep work checklist.
    • Support go-live preparation and production rollout activities.
    • Support business driven projects that integrate with both on-premise systems and cloud-based SaaS solutions
    • Project management following the Mattel Operating Model.
    • Able to recommend and implement changes to applications and processes to meet business requirements or to make them more efficient.
    • Willing to be an integral part of future upgrade and implementation project teams.
    • Capable of researching, troubleshooting, and resolving Hyperion issues by working in collaboration with Mattel business users, EPM team members and other IT Groups.
    • Capable of working late hours to lead the team in supporting the month-end-close process and during all of the financial planning and analysis critical planning cycles.

    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: 

    • A Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent years of experience. 
    • Strong understanding of Financial Consolidation and Planning (Annual Operating Plan, Forecast, Allocation) concepts is a plus.
    • Accounting and Financial Planning and Budgeting acumen.
    • Ability to communicate with financial planning and budgeting in business terminology.
    • 4+ years Hyperion Consolidation, Planning and Essbase experience.
    • Experienced in managing small to medium-size projects and leading teams.
    • Proficient in implementing and supporting one or more of the following applications is highly desired with 2 prior SDLC lifecycles of an EPM implementation:
      • HFM/FCCS
      • PBCS/EPBCS, PCMCS and Essbase
      • ARM/ARCS
      • FDMEE/Data Management and ODI (Oracle Data Integrator)
      • EDMCS
      • Zero based budgeting in EPBCS
      • Report design via Smartview, Financial Reporting Studio and Narrative Reporting
      • EPM Cloud
    • Experienced in developing and delivering end-user training
    • Experienced in reviewing requirements and writing and running EPM-related test scenarios.
    • Skilled in application change migrations from development to test and production environments.
    • Expert in application support including problem analysis and resolution
    • Possesses excellent problem solving and communication skills (written and verbal).
    • Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment.
    • Understanding of ERP tools is a plus.
    • Should be able to work independently under minimal supervision and be a good team player.
    • The annual base salary range for this position is between 90k and 136k **This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
