    Job Description

    THE OPPORTUNITY: 

    The Sr Manager DTC is responsible for developing strategies for future growth, as well as lead planning and execution efforts to support the growth of Mattel’s direct to consumer (DTC) businesses in the U.S and Europe.  This role will focus on delivering best in class consumer experience from order through delivery and returns, building operational and fulfillment capabilities, and improving efficiencies for Mattel brands including American Girl (AG) and Fisher Price (FP). The Sr Manager DTC requires significant interface with commercial stakeholders, and high collaboration with internal teams such as U.S. Direct to Consumer e-Commerce, EMEA Direct to Consumer, Marketing, Finance, I.T., Consumer Care, Demand Planning, Procurement, Distribution Services and Logistics, and Transportation. This role also requires the development of partnerships with external service providers to exceed the day to day expectations of our growing direct consumer business.

    Additionally, the Sr Manager DTC will be involved in the design and implementation of plans to grow Mattel’s DTC business from $14M to $165M, Integrating AG distribution of $300M into the Mattel Logistics Network, and supporting the EMEA DTC fulfillment initiatives with a planned growth of $50M.

    WHAT YOUR IMPACT WILL BE: 

    • Partner with Global Supply Chain (GSC) to develop and execute a holistic multi-year commercial fulfillment strategy and annual plans to support current and future direct to consumer businesses through a combination of direct fulfillment, 3PL management, and other service/software providers.
    • Build out the US and Europe physical Logistics networks form for competitive advantage and growth while optimizing service and cost.
    • Work closely with DTC Analyst and Demand Planning and Distribution & Logistics teams as well as external partners to manage inventory and replenishment for U.S. direct businesses, effectively supporting new product launches, promotions, transitions of discontinued items, etc.
    • Partner with IT, Procurement and service providers (FedEx, LTL carriers, software providers, etc.) on integration of fulfillment data and systems to support a best in class consumer experience and Mattel’s business needs.
    • Develop consumer feedback process and collaborate closely with Consumer Care team to assess satisfaction with delivery, packaging, out of box experience, returns, etc. Identify opportunity areas, make recommendations for improvements and lead cross-functional projects to deliver enhancements and new offerings.
    • Lead capabilities building to define and deliver best in class service level targets on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Create business cases for innovative direct to consumer and e-commerce operations, fulfillment, delivery and return offerings and lead internal and external teams to deliver market leading capabilities.
    • Create and communicate weekly and monthly performance scorecards for each DTC channel. Example KPIs: In-stock rate, fill rate, avg. shipping time, avg. delivery time, shipping costs, returns, avg. return time, etc.
    • Continuously scan consumer, brand, retail and competitive environment for DTC innovation and fulfillment best practices and provide team quarterly updates and recommendations.
    • Lead business and operational process improvement initiatives focused on delivering improved service levels, reducing costs and increasing operational efficiencies.

    • 5 or more years of experience in a fulfillment management role supporting an online direct to consumer business in a commercially focused operations with a brand, retailer, or logistics company

    • Strong ownership mindset, cross-functional collaboration skills and a drive to deliver results

    • Strong knowledge of digital technology landscape and tools

    • Strong analysis, planning & financial acumen

    • Passion for the constant evolution of e-commerce and how consumers are finding new ways to engage with brands

    • Highly enthusiastic and hands-on business approach

    • Strong interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills

    • DTC IT O-I (order to invoice) systems experience preferred

    • Experiencing leveraging/managing 3PL providers preferred

    • Ability to travel as required
