  • Responsibilities

    Matterhorn is looking for a creative and experienced line cook to join our maturing team. Experienced in a fast-paced changing restaurant, where creativity and teamwork are highly encouraged. We are focused on being innovative, building relationships, and making people happy. As a vital member of our team, the line cooks are responsible for ensuring the highest quality of culinary service. They support a creative Tapas concept and private event food production. We take pride in our Cork Family and view all employees as partners.

    Responsibilities

    Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies

    Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)

    Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff

    Answer, report and follow executive chef or sous chef’s instructions

    Clean up station and properly contain leftover food

    Stock inventory appropriately

    Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

    Comply with allergy control, sanitation regulations, and safety standards

    Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

    Skills

    Ideally two years proven cooking experience, including experience as a line cook, restaurant cook or prep cook

    Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures

    Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks

    Familiar with industry’s best practices

    Culinary school diploma not required but an advantage
