Position Overview Mattress Home is hiring a Mattress Sales Manager (Coaching Role) to drive sales performance across multiple locations.
This role is designed for a high-performing mattress or furniture sales professional ready to take the next step into leadership while continuing to perform on the floor. You will work directly with ownership, support store teams, and play a key role in improving overall sales performance and execution across the company.
This is a hands-on role for someone who leads by example, closes at a high level, and enjoys helping others succeed.
Schedule Initial Training & Proving Period (First 90–180 Days) • 5-6 days per week (required) • Monday – Friday (full days) • Saturday or Sunday (required support day)
6th day responsibilities may include: • Supporting the Supercenter • Assisting high-volume stores • Handling quote follow-ups and deal support remotely
Post-Training Structure • 5.5 days per week • 6th day becomes flexible (in-store or remote support) • Required participation during major holidays and peak sales events
Compensation Initial 90–180 Days • $60,000 annual minimum guarantee • Eligible to earn commission on personal sales during assigned store days • Top performers in this role are expected to earn well above the base compensation.
Compensation is structured as: Minimum Guaranteed Pay or Commission, whichever is greater This ensures stability during onboarding while rewarding performance.
Post-Training Growth After successful completion of the initial period, compensation evolves into a leadership-focused structure with performance-based incentives tied to store results.
Key Responsibilities Sales Floor Leadership • Work on the floor and assist with closing deals • Support sales associates during peak hours • Lead by example through strong execution
Sales Coaching & Development • Train and mentor sales associates on: • Customer interaction • Product presentation • Mattress Home sales process • Test-rest execution • Closing strategies • Attachment selling
Performance Improvement • Improve close rates, average ticket, and product attachments • Identify gaps and opportunities across stores
Multi-Store Support • Travel between locations as needed • Work closely with store managers • Drive consistency across all locations
Deal Support & Follow-Up • Assist with quote follow-ups and pending deals • Help convert opportunities into closed sales
Requirements (Strict) • 10+ years in mattress retail sales (required) • Proven track record of strong closing performance • Deep understanding of: • Mattress products and categories • Sales psychology • RSA behavior and mindset • Retail store operations • Must be able to: • Walk into any store and perform immediately • Earn respect through performance, not title • Handle pressure and high expectations
