    Job Description

    A COMPANY IN IRVINE IS LOOKING FOR A BUSINESS ANALYST TO JOIN THEIR TEAM! BASIC FUNCTION: The functions of the Business Analyst are to gather, organize, & elicit software requirements document to the development team. The role requires self-management and the initiative to engage with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Product Managers, or other key personnel during every phase of the project. The business analyst creates requirements documents by working with the Product Manager and using the outlined project scope.

    • Plans and creates sprint schedules by using a product backlog and/or high-level requirements.
    • Reviews requirements and develops software level specification documents for the development team.
    • Creates multiple test cases and may perform high-level functionality validation.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’ s degree (or higher) in Business Administration or STEM field preferred.
    • 1 – 3 Years’ experience as a Business Analyst and/or Scrum Master required.
    • Experience in software development life cycles (SDLC) and software testing life cycles (STLC) required.
    • Conceptual knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.
    • HTML, JavaScript and Python knowledge preferred. WordPress is a plus.
    • A critical thinker with strong communication skills.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES: The following are principal duties of the Business Analyst: CREATES AND OPTIMIZES DEVELOPMENT CYCLES AND SPRINT SCHEDULES · Determines development methodology and maintains product backlog. · Develops and optimizes sprint schedules to improve the development cycles and overall efficiency. MAINTAINS PRODUCT/PROJECT BACKLOGS AND MEETS SPRINT DEADLINES · Maintains, updates, and grooms product backlogs with the support of the Product Manager. · Ensures Sprint deadlines are met, and all deliverables meet specifications. REVIEWS FUNCTIONAL/NON-FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS (BUSINESS LEVEL) · Reviews requirements, agile or waterfall, and creates a project outline based on direction and scope. · Improves various processes; user experience flows, and/or logic provided in the business-level requirement/scope or user-stories. · Analyzes requirements and user-stories to comprehend the project(s) scope and/or task. OPTIMIZES USER STORIES AND WEBSITE/SOFTWARE SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR DEVELOPMENT TEAM · Converts business level requirements or user-stories to software-oriented requirements documents. Provide feature-level details by illustrating flows and/or other methods to describe the feature(s) efficiently. · Includes test case(s) in the specification document for the development team to validate feature(s) before delivery. · Summarizes technical features with the correct specification reference for the development team to create the application. BUG FIXES & DEPLOYMENTS · Administers reported bugs by communicating issue logs to the development team. · Prioritizes and communicates bug reports in upcoming and/or current sprint requirements document. · Supports deployments by collectively working with the Project Manager(s) and Product Manager. SANDBOX VALIDATION AND SPRINT RELEASE TESTING · May perform various high-level validations on the sandbox environment and addresses functional issues. · Reviews bi-weekly test results and sprint release notes.
