Job Title: Sales Support/Forecasting Analyst
This position will provide analytical forecasting support within the Sales organization across all channels and broader cross- functional teams including Marketing and Supply Chain. A planner optimizes sales forecasting to meet customer demand, cost and timeline objectives. Responsible for analyzing data from various sources to identity trends/issues in regard to demand changes to ensure the customer supply expectations are maintained within predetermined parameters.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
PLANNING AND ANALYSIS:
- Identify growth potential within your assigned geographic regions and business segment. Identify current penetration rates of key products in major accounts, highlighting areas of opportunity and risk.
- Track monthly performance of sales against plans and against prior year, by account and by rep. group. Identify successes and shortfalls. Investigate reasons. Identify corrective actions as necessary.
- Attend monthly Inventory Planning (IPS) Meetings. As part of the monthly IPS process, generate a twelve-month rolling sales forecast for each product, to facilitate purchase planning
- Attend Weekly Sales Huddles
- Participate in customer calls and line reviews
- Track performance of products against plan as well as against prior year
- Track customer performance against plan as well as against prior year
- Oversee development, generation and dissemination of important sales analysis reports.
- Manage the forecasting worksheets for the sales team and complete monthly downloads into the ERP planning system
- Analyze inventory risk. Develop plans with Sales and Marketing to minimize actual and potential inventory obsolescence
- Act as a gatekeeper for Sales/Customers for un-forecasted or over-forecast demand on key products
- Achieve company inventory availability targets through proactive planning and monitoring of the activities of the Sales & Marketing activities
- Provide monthly updated purchasing forecasts by sku for rolling 12 months
- Update pricing in ERP system, obtaining pre-approval for adjustment
- Assist in and/or coordination other duties and projects as needed, based on needs of the business
- Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns.
- Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities.
- Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
- Identify and address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner
- Work with Inventory Management team to monitor and manage pacing and performance, provide proactive
- Work with Sales Managers to manage sales execution planning in order to achieve sales goals
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a demand planning/forecasting role
- Working knowledge of data analysis, spreadsheet application, forecasting tools and ability to develop actionable insights from data
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Showing proficiency in MS Office, relatable databases and ERP systems (e.g. NAV)
- Problem solving aptitude and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have great interpersonal skills and ability to build and improve trusting relationships.
