  • Responsibilities

    Performs program hardware quality assurance activities concerned with the engineering of products, materials, and processes, by performing the following duties:

     

    HARDWARE

    • Performs final sell-off, and witnesses testing of products to customers and the government.
    • Answers questions relating to standard practices and procedures.
    • Reviews statements of work for subcontractors where applicable.
    • Performs detailed contract reviews to determine the quality assurance requirements.
    • Participates in design reviews and formal customer reviews and audits.
    • Participates in Program Management reviews.
    • Supports pre-award physical surveys of vendor facilities as a team member with other departments.
    • Reviews and approves under direction of the Manager or other experienced Quality Engineer: manufacturing operation sheets, manufacturing routers, drawings, test and calibration procedures.
    • Develops inspection instructions and inspection points on manufacturing routers.
    • Acts as a member of the Engineering Change Board.
    • Facilitate Failure Review Board meetings with team members to resolve factory issues.
    • Resolves minor issues between Quality Engineers, Production Control and Assembly personnel.
    • Witnesses environmental and operational testing to provide quality validation activities.
    • Performs audits of procedures and special processes.
    • Perform trend analysis inclusive of FMECA, process, workmanship and component failures. Assists in analyzing part failures.
    • Facilitates Root cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
    • Performs other duties as directed.

     

    Required Skills

    EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Industrial Engineering preferred) from a four-year college or university.

    EXPERIENCE:  0-5 years with BA/BS.

     OTHER:  

    • Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a secret clearance when necessary for work on a project that requires such a clearance.
    • Ability to use mechanical measurement equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, comparators and scales.
    • Knowledge of PC’s and their operating systems. (Excel, Word, PowerPoint , Access or rational database development).
