    Job Description

    OPPORTUNITY:  

    Industry-leading global toy, consumer products, and promotional product solutions group has an immediate requirement for a dynamic, results-oriented VP of Sales to manage sales activities, oversee and enhance relationships and business with key mass, specialty, and online retail accounts.

    The Vice President, Sales will be responsible for managing relationships with outside sales reps and distributors. The ideal candidate will have a solid background of comprehensive sales experience in the licensed toy and/or consumer product sector highlighted by significant accomplishments. Skilled in business development, strategic positioning, sales forecasting, market analysis, and brand management. Experience with product and marketing strategies is a big plus. Must have outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a reputation for forming productive business relationships at all levels. The role requires strategic thinking, highly developed problem-solving abilities, and time management skills with proven track record of making the correct decisions and handling multiple responsibilities in high-pressure environments. Only local candidates will be considered.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Within the first 90 days, develop a written national sales plan with targets.
    • Build out and manage the company’s sales operational model and reporting.
    • Expand sales channels via existing networks and relationships.
    • Use industry contacts to acquire hot and evergreen licenses.
    • Collaborate with design team and marketing to elevate product offerings and brand strategies.
    • Work closely with marketing and product development to improve the company’s overall product line.
    • Manage, coach, and train sales team and outside sales reps.
    • Organize sales meetings, including leading pipeline meetings.
    • Provide insights and guidance to the C-Suite as to sales efforts and metrics, and team performance.
    • Oversee trade show presence (Toy Fair, Licensing Expo, etc.) to ensure ROI.
    • Spearhead the development of sales support materials as well as optimize customer support strategies and processes.
    • Provide guidance on all product pricing, including short-term and long-term pricing strategies.
    • Develop pricing proposals for all new products, sales channels, and review pricing recommendations from sales staff.
    • Establish and adjust selling prices by monitoring cost, competition, and supply/demand.
    • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions, territories, and products/lines.
    • Project expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum of 5 years retail-related sales support at a manufacturer or licensor.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Advertising, Marketing, or similar preferred.
    • Previous Toy or consumer products industry experience required including selling to National Chains (such as Target, Walmart, Amazon, etc.)
    • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and EDI experience.
    • Walmart Retail Link and CRM experience a plus.
    • Excellent presentation, customer service & interpersonal skills
    • Highly proficient in MS Office particularly Excel & PowerPoint.
    • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information as required.
