Job Summary
Production Associates 1 work in the kitchen under the direct supervision of the kitchen team leader to complete various tasks including but not limited to preparing ingredients, washing dishes, baking under supervision, as well as assisting with the storefront. They will apply basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Maintain high standards of flavor and quality.
Perform stocking, food prep, cleaning and sanitation tasks as needed.
Help build a culture of warmth, belonging, growth and trust.
Support the team as needed.
Read and execute the daily production baking list as scheduled under the supervision of the production team leader.
Maintain a clean and comfortable work environment.
Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members at all times.
Perform in accordance with all standard operating procedures.
Ensure adherence to all food safety and regulatory duties required in the department.
Forms, cuts, molds, shapes, and bakes cookies under the supervision of the production team leader.
Monitors cooking completion times.
Checks product to ensure it meets Maya’s Cookies quality standards.
Arrives to workstation on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work.
Works all scheduled shifts and attends required training and meetings.
Immediately reports safety hazards and violations to the team leader.
Performs other duties assigned by the team leader or production manager.
Ensure all food is prepared, handled, and stored according to all required food safety regulations..
Operate and maintain bakery equipment including but not limited to mixers, ovens, chocolate melter, coffee grinder, three-compartment sink/dishwasher, grease traps, etc.
Ensure quality control of all products before sending to the warehouse and/or storefront.
Ensure proper sanitation of all pots, pans, utensils, and dishes as well as proper organization and storage of cookware.
Maintain organization of back storage, freezer, walk-in, and production area.

Availability to work flexible hours.
Ability to work a flexible schedule (days, evenings, weekends, and holidays).
Willingness to do different duties during shifts.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in commercial production and customer service is preferred but not necessary.
Physical Requirements
Lift and carry moderate to heavy loads (minimum of 50 lbs.)
Capable of standing and being physically active for extended periods of time.
Must have reliable transportation.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
