Job Description

We are seeking a Sales Associate/Cashier to join our team! You will resolve customer questions and offer solutions to drive company revenue.

Full-time sales position at Mayo Garden Center's West location. Retired people who want to work seasonally are welcome to apply. The position would require the applicant to sell a variety of merchandise from plants to lawn equipment to patio furniture. Applicant must be friendly and outgoing to interact with customers and willing to learn about our wide variety of merchandise. Sales experience and gardening knowledge are a plus. Applicant must be available to work Saturdays and occasionally on Sunday. Pay is based upon experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Present and sell company products and services to new and existing customers
• Prospect and contact potential customers
• Resolve customer inquiries and complaints
• Set follow-up appointments to keep customers aware of latest developments

​QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience in sales, customer service, or other related fields
• Ability to build rapport with customers
• Strong negotiation skills

• Very few Saturdays are required (Mayo's is closed on Sundays) and no evenings.
