    Job Description

    With over 40 years of legal experiences in Real Estate Law, McCabe, Weisberg & Conway has an immediate opening for a full- time Accountant. This position can be located in in our Center City Philadelphia, PA office. MWC is a high volume, fast- paced, multi-office law firm representing Mortgage Lenders, Banks and Financial Institutions in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, DC, Virginia and Florida through the Foreclosure and Bankruptcy legal process.

    We are looking for an experienced Accountant to oversee general accounting operations and ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks and processes. Utilizing hands-on accounting experience and a strong understanding of accounting principles, the Accountant will be responsible for:

    • Managing the month and year end financial close process
    • Preparing regular financial and operational reports, including month and quarter end financial statements
    • Analyzing financial and operational information, spotting anomalies and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness
    • Maintaining entity level general ledgers and ensuring proper account reconciliations are performed and maintained
    • Reconciling intercompany accounts
    • Preparing, updating and analyzing cash forecasts and financial and capital expenditure budgets
    • Working with outside accountants and tax advisors to provide requested information and assist in the annual audit and tax return preparations
    • Monitoring accounts payable, billing and accounts receivable processes and production, identifying bottlenecks and problems and making recommendations for remediation
    • Monitoring compliance with policies and procedures
    • Ensuring compliance with local, state and federal filing requirements
    • Assisting with risk management and the annual insurance/bonding renewal process
    • Developing and documenting accounting processes and policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
    • Coordinating more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting team and with other departments

    Qualifications:

    • BS or BA degree in accounting
    • 1-3 years’ experience
    • Hands on experience with accounting and reporting software packages
