    Job Description

    The Development Associate will perform the functions of the development department by assisting with all revenue-generating fundraising and development activities for the organization. Duties may include, but not limited to: updating the website and social media, being the coordinator and liaison for fundraising events, and managing donor database. Reporting directly to the Director of Development the selected individual will have an immediate impact on the organization’s fundraising and development activities.

    POSITION OVERVIEW In collaboration with the Development Director, the Development Assistant will:

    • Assist with the implementation of fundraising goals and strategies for the Center. 
    • Manage outreach programs for individual giving and maintain contact with donors through distribution of email marketing and social media platforms.
    • Distribute bi-monthly fundraising newsletters under the guidance of the Director of Development.
    • Maintain database of all donors, prospects, volunteers, and grant funders.
    • Prepare gift acknowledgement letters and other correspondences.
    • Assist with preparing monthly reports for fundraising activities.   
    • Edit and proofread communications for social media, solicitation letters, and other pieces as needed. 
    • Manage the Center’s donor database.
    • Work closely with department leaders to create promotional materials designed to enhance fundraising efforts, build relationships with donors, and generate visibility for the program.
    • Assist with annual fundraisers and special events.
    • Performs general office duties such as coordinating mailings, producing and distributing various materials, maintaining frequently used information and maintaining electronic and paper files.
    • Perform administrative and other duties as assigned that may not be within the scope of this position.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • One to three years of relevant fundraising experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
    • Comprehensive understanding of database management
    • Experience in developing solid working relationships with a senior leadership team, external constituents, and donors.
