McConway & Torley is seeking Finishing Operators , also known as Grinders. As a * Grinder *, you will collaborate with a fantastic team of individuals who genuinely care about the work you carry out.
Location: Kutztown, Pennsylvania
Responsibilities:
- Position castings on workbench using hoist
- Conduct visual inspections of castings and note required work
- Position and manually guide grinder or chipping hammer along specified guidelines on edge or surface of casting
- Utilize production gauges to verify that castings meet standard specifications
- Verify the number and type of casting to be prepared for shipment
- Perform general housekeeping and clean up in work area
- Carry out other assigned duties
Requirements:
- Ability to operate jib crane, grinder, air hammer, and gauge
- Familiarity with required specifications on castings
- Regular and predictable attendance is mandatory
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and establish and maintain productive working relationships
- Experience in a similar or related role
Working Conditions:
- Work environment includes various areas such as the plant, warehouse, production areas, non-production areas, and plant grounds
- This position may necessitate work or maintenance coverage beyond regular hours, shifts, and on weekends/holidays
- Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, as well as loud noises typically found in a manufacturing plant
