McConway & Torley is currently seeking an Electrical Technician. As an Electrical Technician, you will work with a great group of individuals who genuinely care about the work you do.
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Here is what you will be responsible for:
- Constructing, testing, diagnosing, repairing, and modifying electronic components, parts, switch panels, electronic equipment, and systems.
- Evaluating new equipment, troubleshooting operation, and making minor adjustments to equipment.
- Performing repairs on high voltage electrical systems, including controls and relays. Installing and fixing electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
- Troubleshooting and repairing computer-controlled equipment that is electronic, mechanical, or electrical.
- Inputting or performing PLC and/or CNC programming as required.
- Following all safety regulations and practices.
- Possibly participating in safety committees or initiatives.
- Performing advanced repairs, troubleshooting electrical issues, conducting preventative maintenance and testing on electrical wiring and components of production equipment and facilities infrastructure.
- Installing electrical panels, relays, and switches.
- Reading and troubleshooting basic PLC programming.
Here is what you need to have:
At least 1 year of relevant electrical experience.
A solid understanding of the principles of electricity/electrical control and general electrical schematics.
The ability to effectively troubleshoot and test all electrical applications.
Preferred experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
Working Conditions:
- The work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas, and plant grounds.
- This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays.
- Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, as well as loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
