Job Description

THE CUSTOMER SERVICE CLERK POSITION CODES AND ENTERS DATA OF CUSTOMER ORDERS AND BILLINGS, AS WELL AS ASSIST WITH CUSTOMER INQUIRIES AND OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES. THEY WILL ALSO INTERACT WITH TRUCK DRIVERS AND SHIPPING COMPANIES THAT PICK UP PRODUCTS FROM THE COMPANY’S FINISHED GOODS WAREHOUSES.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

• ·Receives, codes and enters customers’ orders daily (domestic and export)

• Daily shipping duties to include - creating BOLs, confirms the driver has the correct load information, assigning a seal number and preparing paperwork - including daily invoicing.

• Cross checks order entry and order confirmations

• Bailment Warehouse - Coordinates orders, maintains inventory and provide monthly reconciliations for 16 outside warehouses

• Maintains annual Account Receivable invoices/files and Bailment Reconciliations.

• Projects a positive, professional demeanor when interacting with customers and the general public, as well as McCormick personnel

• Assist with annual physical inventory

• Researches and corrects any shipping discrepancies, including filing claims when applicable.

• ·Assist customer service personnel and other company employees with daily tasks and/or projects as needed

• ·Apprises Customer Service Manager of problems, potential issues and status of work in progress

•  Assist with outside projects as directed by management

• Properly and accurately complete all required paperwork to ensure product is ready to ship in a timely manner and conform to company policies and comply with import/export laws

• Process paperwork for domestic and international shipments including obtaining documents from overseas agents, when necessary

• Generate & compare rates for LTL carriers, UPS & FedEx along with delivery time to determine best method of shipping. Record shipping data into computer records. Coordinate with Customer Service Manager to ensure orders ship on time

• Ensure all orders shipped meet customer guidelines and deadlines. Confirm all records for orders are complete and correct prior to shipment

• Customs Import tracking and clearing

• Assist in investigations related to complaint and claim handling for applicable shipments

• Enter appropriate paperwork and actively manage shipment from beginning to end

• Investigate shipping methods and all related shipping and customs paperwork requirements in advance of shipment

• Create any required regulatory alcohol transfer and shipping documents for bulk and motor freight shipments

• Coordinate shipping with customs agents for clearance on overseas deliveries
