    Job Description

    We’re looking for a passionate leader to play a key role in building out UX research within our global UX Design team at McDonald’s – with a specific focus on the Shopping Experience (engage, discover, select, purchase, and fulfill) across both our app and kiosk channels. This candidate will be responsible for both generative and evaluative UX research, working collaboratively with the broader digital products & experiences team as well as 3rd party vendors. They will be responsible for designing test plans and scripts, working with vendors to recruit users, facilitating research studies, analyzing results, and reporting insights. Additionally, this person will be expected to provide an advisory role to agency resources executing research and point-of-view for how we monitor our voice of customer data.

     

    The position will focus on opportunities that grow our business, working very closely with a team of product managers, engineering managers, as well as both in-house and agency product designers.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    • Design and conduct studies across key product areas, utilizing methods such as ethnographic/field research, diary studies, surveys, user/usability testing (remote and in-person), and any other methods.
    • Review, analyze, and communicate qualitative and quantitative data to generate tactical and strategic insights, as well as actionable recommendations which drive product innovation and design improvements for users.
    • Use analytic data to help drive assumptions toward testable hypotheses.
    • Find creative and compelling ways to generate, present, and evangelize results and recommendations throughout the company.
    • Map out holistic customer experience flows.
    • Commission and manage exploratory ethnographic and evaluative usability research studies.

    ·      Employ appropriate process models for prototyping and simulations.

    ·      Work closely with designers to refine prototypes in advance of testing (Figma, InVision, Adobe XD)

    ·      Develop a process for recruiting with 3rd party vendors in multiple markets for both remote and in-person research.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of experience with Product organizations, conducting qualitative and quantitative research studies, including usability/user testing, surveys, and user interviews.
    • Experience managing 3rd party vendors and agencies for recruiting, facilitation
    • Proficient in software usability principles, UX research best practices, and aware of current trends and advances in interface and functional design.
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
    • Curious, task-oriented, and a self-starter with a strong bias for action; proven track record of “getting things done”.
    • Customer-centric mindset with a passion for discovering consumer behavior, trends, and opportunities for innovation.
    • Experience with large corporate organizations a plus
