    We’re looking for a Field PR Manager to drive PR and Impact strategy (including local media relations, influencer strategies, crisis management) across the East Coast/West Coast. Your primary focus will be amplifying McDonald's strategic narrative and business priorities locally to drive brand affinity and trust in the local communities we serve.

    Laddering up to the US Business Communications Team, this position will be based at McDonald’s Headquarters in Chicago with occasional travel required to the East/West Coast. You will report to the Senior Manager, US Field PR and be a member of the broader North American Impact team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the local PR strategy for the East/West region across key US business/operations, marketing, community and people initiatives.
    • Use data and knowledge of the local earned media landscape to develop creative approaches to reach key audiences.
    • Build and strengthen local reporter relationships on behalf of the brand.
    • Serve as a trusted PR counselor for local Field Office leadership and restaurant Owner/Operators.
    • Draft and review materials including campaign communications plans, pitches, press releases, statements, Q&A and more.
    • Triage and manage media response strategy on local and restaurant-level issues and crises.
    • Collaborate with PR agency partners across the East/West.
    • Constantly story-mine for potential news angles, data and trends to drive opportunistic storytelling, and work closely with cross-functional North America Impact partners to amplify stories to broader audiences.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • BA/BS degree required
    • Natural storyteller with excellent speaking, writing and editing skills
    • Ability to navigate, orchestrate and work through sophisticated issues with a strategic lens
    • Strong experience and knowledge of the earned media landscape
    • Adept at navigating media issues and crises for brands
    • Strong business knowledge with a demonstrated ability to understand business strategy and how to use communications as a mechanism to drive that strategy
    • Proven leadership and ability to influence and work with Sr. Leadership and multi-disciplined teams
    • On the record media relations experience & experience managing agencies is a plus
    • Local or field-level media relations & crises response experience is a plus
    • Ability to travel as needed
